Artes Snakes “Somebody help me!” I hear Arte bellowing as I reach the front of the shop. I fling open the door to find Arte standing on top of step-ladder right next to the front counter. He’s poking at the floor behind the counter with with a broom handle and continuing to shout, “Shoo, shoo, go away!” < br /> Fearing that whatever has chased Arte up on the counter must be dangerous, I leap into a Loader Lounger that is sitting against the wall. “Arte, what is it?” Arte, continuing to jab at the floor, answers, “Snakes! A whole mess of them! One of the cages in the back broke and they all got loose.” He turns his attention back to the floor. “Back, get back!” “Snakes? Why do you have a cage of snakes in the shop?” Arte glares back over his shoulder at me. “They’re for that new type of floor that I just got into the shop. Not all of these items come pre-assembled you know. I just got in a huge shipment of snakes and step-ladders for tomorrow’s sale, and I haven’t had a chance to put them together with the floor yet. I climb up on the arm of the Loader Lounger and leap over to the counter. Peering down at the floor, I can’t help but laugh. “Arte, that’s what’s got you up here?” I snicker, “That’s just a bunch of little garden snakes. They can’t do anything to hurt you. “Hrumph. I don’t care what kind of snakes they are. I hate snakes, and they don’t belong in my shop. I know everyone is excited about this new floor, but I don’t know if I can manage to get it put together for the sale.” Still laughing, I climb down off of the counter. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it for you.” I grab an old cardboard box and one by one scoop the snakes up into it.” From atop the counter, Arte watches me like a hawk. “Thanks Merthyn. I’m not sure what I would have done if you hadn’t come in the door just now.” “Not a problem Arte. Glad I can help.” As I carry the box to the back of the shop, I notice that Arte hasn’t moved off of the counter. He’s still staring at the floor. Guess he’s making sure that I got them all. “Wow, I had no idea he was that afraid of snakes.” Putting the floors together was actually a lot of fun. The snakes and I had a great time. Turns out that they’re really friendly, and very good at backgammon. Poor Arte. Good thing that Friday’s rare item item is isn’t as “lively”.

The Giant Garden

 

                                                      

Title: Lisa’s Adventures; The Giant Garden
Short Description: Lisa’s imagination sometimes carries her away …

   It was a sunny day in Webkinz World, and Lisa the Clydesdale Horse was busy helping her friend Mandy with the gardening. It was summer, and it was very hot outside.

   Mandy wiped the sweat off her face with her hand and said impatiently, “It’s too hot outside! I can’t do anything out here!” She went over to the hammock and settled herself there. Lisa watched silently, not knowing what to say.

   In a few minutes Mandy had fallen asleep. Lisa became worried about the garden; no one was takin care of it. So she picked up the watering can and started to water the carrots. She started watering the plants. Suddenly, when she was watering the last of her garden, she ground began to shake. It knocked Lisa off her feet and made her fall to the ground.

   Lisa gasped. The water had spilled from the watering can and made a big puddle. Lisa fell in the puddle, getting all wet. “Oh no!” Lisa cried out, getting back up. “I’m all dirty and wet!” She opened the door and went inside her huge mansion and gave herself a nice bath.

   Lisa went back outside. What she saw made her eyes widen with amazement.

   The plants in her garden had grown twenty times their size; they were now bigger than Lisa!! It felt so hot, too, hotter than Lisa had ever experienced. She didn’t know what to do with the giant plants, so she looked around for Mandy. She was gone.

   “Mandy! MANDYYYY!!!” Lisa called. “WHERE ARE YOU??” Mandy came out running. “What??” the little cow asked. “What is it? You woke me up, I went to sleep in my room.” Lisa stared at her with her mouth open. Couldn’t she see the garden? Finally, she said, “Can’t you see?? The huge plants? In the garden?!?” Mandy shook her head.

   Lisa turned around. The plants were there. She ran up to them and touched one. She felt nothing. She waved her hand. It went right through the pumpkin. 

   Lisa turned around. “Oh, never mind,” she said. “It’s too hot outside. It might just be a mirrage or something. Just go back to bed.”

   Mandy smiled. “Ok then.” Lisa yawned. She felt sleepy. She went inside the house and into her room. She looked out the window. Suddenly she remembered: tomorrow was the big race in their backyard.

   Lisa lay down on her bed. She thought of today and how the plants became giant in their garden, and then how it all was just a mirrage or an illusion or something. She giggled at that. How silly of her, to think that plants could grow that big! Soon, Lisa was fast asleep.

   “Lisa, Lisa!” Lisa was awoken by her little sister, Skittle. She was a little rabbit. “Wake up! Look in the backyard!” Lisa opened one eye and then jumped up and ran with Skittle into the backyard.

   Lisa couldn’t believe her eyes. Now the vegetables were giant!! They took up more than half of their backyard now. “The race,” Lisa cried. “How are we going to have the race, Skittle?”

   Skittles shrugged. “I don’t know.” She sighed. Lisa felt sorry for Skittle. She had been practising like crazy yesterday, all for nothing. “It’s ok,” Lisa said, patting Skittle on her head. “We’ll find a way to have the race. Come on.”

   Lisa went up to the giant watermelon. She stood up on her hind legs and pushed it gently. It moved slightly. Lisa got an idea.

    “Hey Skittle! Come help me push these to the side!” Skittle jumped over to Lisa. Suddenly Lisa pushed the watermelon more by mistake, and it was rolling right toward Skittle!

    “SKITTLE!” Lisa screamed. “GET OUT OF THE WAY!” Suddenly somebody was shaking her. She woke up to find Skittle standing next to her bed. Skittle had a questioning look on her face.

   “You’re all right!” The horse hugged her sister. “My goodness! What a nightmare I just had!”

A New Friend in Town Chapter 1 One fine spring day, Baby Bliss Bear was Shopping in Downtown Northville. She was trying to pick out the purr-fect gift for Monica, the Persian cat, because her 11th birthday was on Friday, and one of the richest Webkinz in Webkinz World deserved a special gift! So, Baby Bliss Bear couldn’t choose between a Medieval Pedestal or a Screwy Lamp from the Curio Shop! While she was deciding, she heard her cellphone ringing. Baby Bliss Bear answered the call to hear Belle, the black lab, say, “Baby Bliss Bear, come to the kinzport, and hurry up!” Belle hung up before Baby Bliss Bear could ask why. So, Baby Bliss Bear grabbed the Screwy Lamp and hurried to the airport to see what was going on! Chapter 2 As Baby Bliss Bear arrived, she took a glance around. Nothing seemed unusual, except for Belle and Monica talking with extra large smiles and Belle was even jumping up and down! Baby Bliss Bear also saw Kisses and Hugs, the twin Love Puppies, departing from the plane. She remembered that they took a vacation to an exotic island off the coast of Kinz Beach. As Baby Bliss Bear was examining the area for anything exciting or unusual, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a most amazing sight! A bunny was departing the plane, but this was no ordinary Webkinz bunny! This bunny’s fur was a mixture of many colors, pink, purple, white, and yellow! Normally Webkinz bunnies’ fur is only the color of snow! Then Baby Bliss Bear realized that she had been reading about this Webkinz in school. This rare Webkinz is a Sherbet Bunny! They are known to be extremely friendly and kind. Belle and Monica were staring in awe at the sight of the new arrival, but when the Sherbet Bunny saw that everyone was staring, she quickly hopped away. Baby Bliss Bear wanted to find out more about this strange Webkinz, so she followed her behind the plane.

Chapter 3 As Baby Bliss Bear neared the corner, she saw the Sherbet Bunny looking at a book. This book was a brownish color and the pages looked really old. The Sherbet Bunny was flipping through the pages, it seemed as if she was memorizing every detail on the pages. Baby Bliss Bear wondered what the book contained. She began to wonder if this bunny was hiding something from all of the other Webkinz. So Baby Bliss Bear made a list with all the suggestions. She had added a fifth suggestion at the bottom, but she doubted that could be it. Suddenly, from behind the corner came Monica, Belle, Hugs, and Kisses. In Monica’s hand was an invitation to her party. “Cotton Candy! Monica the Persian Cat wanted to know if you could attend her party!” Hugs yelled. “I….I guess.” Cotton Candy stuttered. Baby Bliss Bear knew there was more to this Sherbet Bunny named Cotton Candy, and she intended to find out!!

Chapter 4 Baby Bliss Bear was getting ready for Monica’s party. It was exactly 6:45 kinztim, and her party was at 8:00. She couldn’t decide if she should wear her Royal Queen outfit or her Pretty Pink Princess outfit! As she was choosing, she thought of Cotton Candy. Maybe she is a really nice Webkinz! But then another thought creeped into her head, maybe she is trying to trick all of them, maybe she is really a dangerous person! Baby Bliss Bear just couldn’t decide, so she focused on her outfit, accesories, and her treat! Monica had asked everyone to bring in a delectable treat for the party. So Baby Bliss Bear decided to make Spicy Salsa to go with the nachos she had bought from the W-Shop! After mixing asparagus, tomato, and corn on the cob together, she put them into the oven. As they were cooking, she called Belle to see what she was up to! “Hello?” Said Belle. “Hey!” answered Baby Bliss Bear. “Oh! I…….uh……have to…..go!” “Why?” asked Baby Bliss Bear curiously. “Because Cotton Candy and I are in the middle of a great game of Kinz Pinz Bowling!” “You have a bowling alley?” “No, Cotton Candy brought hers over!” BEEP! Baby Bliss Bear hung up. She definetly didn’t want to know how Cotton Candy had gotton that bowling alley! Those are SUPER rare! Arte rarely ever gets them into his shop! Baby Bliss Bear looked at the time, 7:45, time to get going! She grabbed the salsa and nachos. Put on her Royal Queen outfit, and hurried out the door to Monica’s party! Instead of posting a picture to Chapter 4, we decided to add a Webkinz Fashions! Check the “Girl Webkinz Fashions” page to see the Royal Queen outfit! Chapter 5 Baby Bliss Bear knocked on Monica’s door at exactly 8:01 kinztime. Monica opened the door and said, “Baby Bliss Bear! Thanks so much for coming!” Baby Bliss Bear handed Monica the nacho’s and salsa until she realized she forgot Monica’s present! Cotton Candy stepped out and handed Baby Bliss Bear her gift, it was wrapped in shiny purple and pink paper with a big white bow on top. Baby Bliss Bear took the present, unsure if it was a good or bad move. Monica was dressed in a Cute Cropped Jacket with Cuffed Jeans and her Webkinz Crown of Wonder. Baby Bliss Bear took the crown off of her head and replaced it with a party hat. Then she joined the crowd around Monica’s throne. While Monica talked about the party and opened her gifts, Baby Bliss Bear noticed Cotton Candy. She was sneaking around the room and was now hiding behind a suit of armor. Just then, the lights turned off and everyone screamed. When the lights came back on, Monica’s Crown of Wonder was gone and a tiara stood in its place. Baby Bliss Bear knew who had stolen her Crown of Wonder and she intended to find out why……. Chapter 6 “AHHHH!” Monica Screamed. Everyone looked and saw why she yelled. Hugs and Kisses even gasped. Monica said “My crown of wonder! It’s….it’s…..” “Stolen?” Cotton Candy interupted. Everyone, including Baby Bliss Bear looked to see Cotton Candy with sunglasses over her eyes and a magnifying glass in hand. Baby Bliss Bear gave her a mean look and Cotton Candy’s reply was only a little sigh, “Alright, do you guys trust me or not? I can help you find Monica’s crown of wonder, but you guys have to trust me!” Belle, Hugs, Kisses, and Monica all said, “I trust you!” Everyone turned to stare at Baby Bliss Bear and see why she didn’t answer. “Well…..well I don’t!” Everyone gasped and Cotton Candy had a hurt look in his eyes. A small tear drop dribbled down the bunny’s cheek. “I know you stole Monica’s crown of wonder! I just know it!” Cotton Candy said, “Well….if you don’t believe me…I’ll…I’ll just leave!” Cotton Candy stormed out of the room. Hugs, Kisses, and Monica ran after her. Belle was standing in the room looking at Baby Bliss Bear and the doorway. She said, “Baby Bliss Bear, you and I know that we aren’t the best of friends with Cotton Candy but we should at least give him a chance.” Belle ran out of the room to follow the others and after Baby Bliss Bear thought about it, ran out after her to do what is right!

Chapter 7 Baby Bliss Bear ran after her friends to find Cotton Candy with a magnifying glass examining the room. Baby Bliss Bear ran and hid behind a giant pillar to watch. She wasn’t exactly ready to apoligize yet. She wanted to forget about it, but it kept on popping up in her mind. She felt a enormous amount of guilt. As they all searched Monica’s living room, Cotton Candy suddenly announced, “That’s strange.” “What is strange?” Belle asked curiously. “Well, apparently no one took the crown, because I can find no trace of unusual footprints. The only footprints I found were our own and Baby Bliss Bear’s.” Everyone glanced at eachother with a worried look. Baby Bliss Bear gasped and whispered, “They think I stole Monica’s crown!” Hugs said, “She wouldn’t!” “She always was a little jealous when I finally got my crown from Arte.” Monica replied. Cotton Candy jumped in and said, “Let’s not jump to conclusions! We still haven’t examined the crime scene of the missing Webkinz Crown of Wonder.” They all marched back into the party room when Belle let out a gasp, “Where’s Baby Bliss Bear?” Everyone looked around. Baby Bliss Bear was no where to be found. Hugs and Kisses looked in the living room even behind the stone pillar to find a party hat lying on the ground. Meanwhile, Baby Bliss Bear was running upstairs into Monica’s room and saw a set of stairs by the door. “I wonder where they lead?” She wondered. “If they think I am to blame, then they will have to find me first!” Chapter 8 As Baby Bliss Bear climbed on the stairway, she thought to herself, “I thought they were my friends, but I guess I was wrong. They think I stole Monica’s crown! How could they?” Then, Baby Bliss Bear saw the end of the stairs. “Finally!” She thought to herself. Except, when she reached the end of the stairs, she saw a strange sight. Back downstairs, the other Webkinz continued the search for Baby Bliss Bear and the crown. Cotton Candy was examining Monica’s throne. “Monica, did you actually feel the crown being lifted off of your head?” Cotton Candy asked. “Well, no, I didn’t feel any paws touch my head, but I did feel a small wind fly through my fur.” Monica replied. “Very strange, very strange indeed.” Back upstairs, Baby Bliss Bear saw an amazing sight! It was a strange creature with a shiny treasure in it’s claws. Baby Bliss Bear sneaked behind a medieval chest to watch. The treasure was Monica’s Crown of Wonder! The creature looked at the crown, and then put it into a sack. It started to move toward the window, until Baby Bliss Bear couldn’t control herself and jumped up, “Hault!” The creature turned to look at her with it’s small black eyes, then like a flash of light, moved toward the wall. Baby Bliss Bear yelled, “You’re cornered! Hand over the crown!” Then, all of a sudden, like a gust of wind, the wall flew open and the creature zipped down the hall at a surprising speed inside the tunnel. The gust threw Baby Bliss Bear off her feet and she landed in a pile of dusty clothes. After coughing and wiping the dust off her outfit, she ran after the creature. The hallway started as a huge hallway, but was getting narrower as she went down it. Then after running for around 3 minutes, she saw that it was a dead-end! Baby Bliss Bear couldn’t stop! She ran right into the wall which opened into a large room. After recovering from the fall, Baby Bliss Bear stood up to look into 5 familiar faces. It was Monica, Hugs, Kisses, Belle, and Cotton Candy! They didn’t look too happy. Monica was furious, “What were you doing sneaking around my house? You could have broke something!” “A secret passage! How very interesting!” Cotton Candy was no longer staring at Baby Bliss Bear, but was examining the passage. All of a sudden, Monica’s maids were brining out the cake and dinner. There was all kinds of maids and butlers, since Monica’s family was rich. There was a basset hound, clydesdale, pegasus, panda, bat, yorkie, and a lot more! Her loyal butler was a cheeky dog. They all brought out food of all kinds, from berried bone bonbons to five alarm chili. Monica had it all! The cake was a 4 foot Webkinz cake. “Mmmm! That cake sure does look good!” Belle added. “Yes, I surely hope it does! We had a incident in the kitchen when the batter overflowed. After cleaning it up, we put it into our brand new speedy-cake-maker. I sure hope all the ingredients were at the correct measure.” The cheeky dog butler said. “Oh! It will be delicious! Let us eat! Then we will solve the case of the missing crown!” Monica said with a hungry smile. Chapter 9 As Baby Bliss Bear ate, she felt everyones eyes staring at her, everyone except Cotton Candy. She was eating and writing on a notepad. The dinner was great! It would have been better, if Baby Bliss Bear wasn’t being accused and stared at. After all the food was gone, the butler stood up and started to cut the cake, until Cotton Candy and Baby Bliss Bear both yelled, “STOP!” Everyone turned to look at them. Cotton Candy said, “Do not cut that cake!” “That’s evidence!” Baby Bliss Bear yelled. Monica had a slight surprised smile on her face. Belle said, “I hope there’s some explanation for this! I’m drooling at the sight of that cake!” Baby Bliss Bear said, “Yes there is! One of us at this table is guilty!” “Well, not really. More than one person is involved. Except the other person is not at this table.” Cotton Candy replied. Everyone sitting at the table looked at them funny. Can you figure it out? Try to find some clues in Chapter 8. Then scroll down for the solution SOLUTION After thinking hard, Baby Bliss Bear and Cotton Candy both realized that since Monica felt no paws on her head. The creature must have come from above. Then, when Baby Bliss Bear was in the hallway, she saw it move at a great speed mand it’s claws, it must have been a flying creature. Then, when the maids were bringing out the dinner, they spotted a bat. It fit the description. After flying out quietly, he dropped the crown into the batter of the cake before it was put into the maker. That made the cake overflow. After discussing it, Monica admitted she planned the whole thing. She thought that a little drama at her party might bring everyone closer and it would be fun to solve the mystery, Baby Bliss Bear and Cotton Candy were almost best friends. The crown was recovered and the rest of the party was great!
